Room In Our Hearts

Welcome to Room In Our Hearts

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families whose homes have been affected by crisis. Our mission is to redecorate one room in these households from conception to completion in the most sustainable and creative way at no cost to them. The room of their choice includes furniture, artwork, home d├ęcor and small comforts of home from recycled, repurposed and refashioned items that are unique and special. New items are used as an alternative.

Room In Our Hearts identifies and helps people struggling to have a home again after a crisis by redecorating one room. The sense of having one space finished and ready for relaxation and enjoyment can positively impact feelings of grief and trauma and provide a renewed spirit.

The room request of each recipient will be achieved by partnering with volunteers who are redecorators, artists, craftspeople, etc. who passionately work to create an individual space that brings back a sense of normalcy and rediscovery. Through the support of corporate sponsors and donors, Room In Our Hearts can aid the process of renewal.
