Did you ever notice that homes that leave a lasting impression with you always seem to have a special entrance way? It doesn’t have to be a large and grand foyer with a sprawling staircase, it just has to be a feeling that you get when you walk in the front door. Such was the case with the Eulner home in Union Beach. After Michele and Paul contacted Room In Our Hearts to help refurnish their living room, the first thing noticed was the lack of an entrance way. Of course there was a front door but no sense of the home greeting you. After living in a rental property since Superstorm Sandy, Mr. and Mrs. Eulner, their two young sons and two dogs definitely needed to be greeted with open arms at the door.
Their emotional feeling about losing their home was still fresh after almost a year. They are still healing and the rebuilding of their house is almost done. RIOH stepped in to the make the living room warm and inviting again. After measuring and planning, the RIOH team decided to create an entrance walkway by using leather-look wallpaper donated by THIBAUT. The wall covering is very durable and completely washable which was important since it is the highest traffic area in the home. By hanging the paper horizontally, it created the illusion of a separate entrance way. The look was completed with a small entrance piece of furniture and matching mirror. When Michelle, Paul and the boys opened the door after RIOH had finished, the Eulner's home now had a foyer that welcomed all that entered.
