On a bitterly cold day in February, Room In Our Hearts decorated a room in Union Beach, NJ using only two colors. The owners had lost most of their home to flooding but had enough time to move some of their belongings to a safe place. They had some very unique pieces of artwork, accessories and an unusual birdcage table. What they needed were basic pieces of furniture and a discriminating eye to coordinate the decorating of their living room.
A group of RIOH ladies took the task to hand and decided to use only two colors in the room so that all the homeowners possessions would be highlighted. With the braun provided by Gateway Church of Christ, all the furniture was strategically carried up many steps to be placed in the new room. Using several tones of beige and green and streamlined furniture, the end result of the room was both calming and interesting. The custom window treatments blended perfectly with rug donated by Carpet Value Outlet in Middletown, NJ. The wall color chosen by the lady of the house was a low key shade of green. Sticking to just green and beige made it easier to display the varied array of artifacts into a cohesive design. As the ladies worked together to assemble the room, they intermixed some of the possessions that were in the home with pieces donated by RIOH to create a very contemporary and individual space. Needless to say, the couple was thrilled with the outcome.
